Easter Eggs on a tree

As a multicultural person I have advantage of having an excuse to celebrate many more traditional and other holidays and festivals including religious ones.

Not every Christian will celebrate Easter on the same day – or minimum not every year, as sometimes it does happen to be on the same date.

Not every culture has an Easter bunny, or not every culture will have chocolate eggs.

When I first decorated a tree outside of our house with Easter eggs people were asking a shop assistant of our corner shop who also happened to be Russian whether everybody in Russia decorate trees with Easter eggs.

She said that she had never known that before as this tradition came from my German side. And I do really love it! It gives me another chance to decorate trees, otherwise I would have only a Christmas occasion.

I love a lot desire of Germans to make their neighbourhood bright and nice, with a special twist… and somewhat competition at times. If you notice that your lawn is overgrown you take immediate actions, unless of cause it is time and days when you cannot disturb your neighbours with the noise of the lawn mower. Yes, to be a good neighbour is what is expected and what I guess also motivates.

But as I am only partially German I do not always as good as I am this year, at decorating trees for Easter. I kind of forget or go to Germany.

This year though after having a craft stall at the school fayre – we marbled polystyrene eggs with kids – I had no excuse. Back home with boys we took out our marbling paints and made our own Easter eggs to decorate the bush in our garden.

To add to it the day was sunny and warm and boys enjoyed been outside.

If you would like to learn about marbling check this post.
