Toy Story on a handkerchief

I loved drawings by my kids.

I have all sort of ideas what I could do with them in addition to the art galleries which we have on all doors. Handkerchiefs however were never on my to-do-list, but I liked success of the first project. So when I found a little album in which each page was dedicated to a character from the Toy Story drawn by my oldest when he was in reception class, I decided to give it a go and make another handkerchief.

It was interesting again to play with colours and be creative with them running :-0 etc.

It was also interesting to hear from now a Year One pupil about ‘mistakes’ in writings :-).

By the way it was interesting and still is – a concept that you do not correct your child when they start writing, they do learn better the more they read and progress at school. Sort of different concept I followed when I was a teacher, we believed that the sooner a mistake is corrected the greater chance is to get rid of it, as when something is learnt it is  more difficult to re-learn. But the methods of my sons’ school works and both do improve their writing every time.

One more thing about this work – ‘Mr Spell’ and ‘Drour’ were black and white in original drawings, they were also the last ones so I guess somebody was already tired. But when I presented him my work he asked to add some colour and we discussed about what that could be to fit well with the rest of the picture. I think the choice we made really ads colour to the masterpiece :-).
